Villa Campestri Vicchio di Mugello

Hotel Villa Campestri is situated in the Tuscan countryside just 35 kilometers away from Florence and 15 kilometers from the Mugello Ferrari race circuit. The earliest existing documents regarding the villa date back to the 13th century when the edifice served as a small fortified complex complete with watchtowers, the remains of which are still visible.

Land register records state that the building was enlarged and converted in manor house in 1430, although the present renaissance style was the result of alterations made much later, in the late 19th century. The ornate façade of the hotel was an early 20th century addition.

After having remained in the hands of the noble Florentine Roti Michelozzi family for almost 700 years, in 1989 the property was purchased by the present owner, Paolo Pasquali, responsible for the restoration and transformation of the villa in exclusive hotel. The meticulous restoration project has ensured that key architectural features have been conserved as have the original terracotta floors, plaster work and ornate wooden ceilings of Villa Campestri.

The guest bedrooms, located in the villa, old farmhouse and dairy building are furnished with a stunning combination of vintage and antique furniture. All afford magnificent views of the gardens with swimming pool overlooking the Mugello valley.
