Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort

Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort Vicchio di Mugello

What better setting for Tuscany's very first Olive Oil Resort than the rolling countryside of Vicchio di Mugello? Set in extensive parkland, surrounded by an exquisite patchwork of chestnut woods, vineyards and olive groves, Villa Campestri is a stunning period residence in which to enjoy a relaxing holiday, whilst discovering the secrets of the region's precious liquid gold.

The earliest existing documents regarding Villa Campestri date back to the 13th century when the edifice served as a small fortified complex complete with watchtowers, the remains of which are still visible. Land register records state that the building was enlarged and converted in manor house in 1430, although the present renaissance style was the result of alterations made much later, in the late 19th century. The ornate façade of the hotel was an early 20th century addition.

After some 700 years in the hands of the noble Florentine Roti Michelozzi family, in 1989 the property was purchased by Paolo Pasquali, responsible for its restoration and transformation in exclusive hotel. The resort's bedrooms and suites, located in the villa, the adjoining farmhouse and the old dairy, are furnished with a stylish combination of vintage and antique furniture. All afford magnificent views of the gardens, the swimming pool and the Mugello valley.

Guests dining in Villa Campestri's elegant "L'Olivaia" restaurant are presented with superb Tuscan cuisine, accompanied by a peerless selection of the region's wines and an impressive choice of the world's finest extra virgin olive oils. Guaranteeing blissful moments of relaxation and wellbeing, the '"Salus per oleum" spa offers a range of massages and beauty treatments, all designed to exploit the health inducing properties of olive oil. For those who fancy a more active holiday, there are mountain bike and walking routes, truffle hunts, and the chance to plant your own olive tree.

Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort is a great base from where to discover the art cities of Tuscany. Florence, Pistoia, Prato and Siena are, in fact, all just a few kilometers away.
