Hotel Santa Caterina Amalfi

Hotel Santa Caterina is situated just minutes away from the town of Amalfi on the breathtakingly beautiful Amalfi Coast. From the coastal road the property descends over a series of landscaped terraces, lemon groves and Mediterranean gardens to the sea edge and the hotel's beach club with sea-water swimming pool, sun-decks, fitness area, bar and "Al Mare" restaurant.

This impressive building was constructed in 1880 by Giuseppe Gambardella and redesigned by his son, Cresenzo, some 20 years later. Today, the resort is managed by Cresenzo's daughters, Giusi and Ninni and their children.
Many of Hotel Santa Caterina's rooms and suites have terraces or gardens. All have balconies overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Public rooms and guest bedrooms are all decorated with antique furniture and hand painted Vietri ceramic floor tiles. The suites of this five star luxury hotel are, arguably, the most romantic of the whole of Italy; suites such as the cliff top chalet "Romeo and Juliet" or the "Follia Amalfitana" nestling amidst the citrus groves.

The restaurants of the Hotel Santa Caterina have acquired international acclaim. On more than one occasion, the hotel's talented chefs have been invited to prepare the traditional cuisine of the Amalfi Coast for clients at the New York Plaza Hotel. Guests eating at the Hotel Caterina's main restaurant are served beautifully presented Mediterranean dishes in a breathtakingly panoramic dining room. Pizzas cooked in a traditional wood oven and the freshest fish are served at the hotel's "Restaurant al Mare", situated above the sea edge swimming pool.

The hotel's Spa offers guests a selection of massages, full body and facial treatments. The wellness center is equipped with Turkish bath, Scottish shower and Sauna. Top level meetings and seminars are held in Hotel Santa Caterina's 2 function rooms. The "Veranda", with large sea view verandas, has a seating capacity for up to 70 participants. The smaller "Bougainville" accommodates maximum 20 guests.
