Porto Pirgos Hotel Parghelia

The Hotel Porto Pirgos is located on one of the most charming stretches of Italy's Tyrrhenian coast, in the small town of Parghelia and close to the legendary Calabrian sea resort of Tropea.

This exclusive 5 star hotel was once the summer residence of a local aristocratic family, and still maintains many of the pseudo Spanish features of the original building.

Porto Pirgos has a total of 18 romantic bedrooms furnished with brass beds and antiques and leading out on to terraces and patios with views of the gardens and sea. All rooms have delightful Old-England porcelain bathrooms.

An intimate coastal retreat, the hotel Porto Pirgos is immersed in exotic gardens of bougainvillea, eucalyptus and olive trees with views directly on to the sea and the hotel's private beach.

The dining room of the hotel's restaurant has a spectacular mosaic floor leading out to a colonnaded terrace. The sitting rooms, furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs, feature exposed beam ceilings, locally crafted wrought iron fixtures, and traditional terracotta paving.

A beautiful kidney shaped swimming pool is situated at the heart of the property. A second pool has been built on the beach.

Guests have the opportunity to enjoy a number of water sports including windsurfing and canoeing. Refreshing drinks and snacks are served at the Porto Pirgos' beach bar.
