Novecento Boutique Hotel Venezia

The Hotel Novecento is situated in a peaceful corner of Venice's San Marco district, between St Mark's Square and the Accademia Galley.

One of Venice's rare boutique hotel's, the Novecento is has been created in a charming palazzo dating back to the 17th century, masterly restored and transformed in an intimate 9 bedroom property with spacious central lounge and charming courtyard garden.

The owners, Gioele and Heiby Romanelli, who personally manage the hotel, have designed fabulous interiors decorated with both pieces of traditional Venetian furniture from the 1900's and items imported from the Mediterranean, Asia and North Africa.

Inspiration for the hotel's eclectic interiors was drawn from the young couples interest in the life and works of Mariano Fortuny, the ingenious Spanish artist, architect and dress designer who moved to Venice in 1889, where he resided in the historic Palazzo Pesaro Orfei. Fortuny is, perhaps, best known for his textiles, the designs of which were influenced by his knowledge of Fifteenth century Florence, Seventeenth century Venice, Persia, Asia, South America, Egypt, China and Greece.

In addition to stunning accommodation, the Hotel Novecento provides the venue for small scale itinerant contemporary art exhibitions.

After a day spent visiting the city's museums and art galleries or simply strolling through the lively markets and piazzas of Venice, the comfortable lounge of the hotel offers a fabulously relaxing environment where to browse through the papers or enjoy a drink from the Novecento's honesty bar.
