Masseria San Domenico Savelletri di Fasano

The Masseria San Domenico is a superb 5 star luxury resort set in a 60 hectare country estate just 500 meters from the sea''' edge on the coast between Bari and Brindisi.

Part of the hotel was once a XV century watch tower, built so as to warn of potential attacks by the Ottoman armies. Centuries later, the fortified structure was expanded so as to be used as a farmstead, or Masseria , providing dwellings for farm workers and occasional residence of the landowner, in addition to processing and storage space for the produce farmed.

A little more than a decade ago, the long-abandoned country estate was the subject of an extensive restoration project, resulting in its transformation in luxury resort. Today, the Masseria San Domenico has 39 bedrooms and 11 suites decorated with period furniture, luxurious drapes, and wonderfully romantic beds with elaborate wrought iron bedsteads.

Guests dine at the hotel's "San Domenico" restaurant in a magnificent dining room with vaulted ceilings dating back to the 17th century. The finest Mediterranean cuisine is prepared using locally-sourced ingredients, many of which grown on the estate itself. Fresh fish and sea food feature in many of the beautifully presented dishes. The wine list includes all of the region's most highly acclaimed wines. A buffet lunch awaits guests at the Pool Grill, close to the hotel's stunning swimming pool.
