Masseria Cimino Savelletri di Fasano
The Masseria Cimino is situated close to the picturesque Apulian fishing village of Savelletri, and just meters away from the magnificent sea of the Italian Adriatic.
Originally an 18th century farmstead, the Masseria Cimino, surrounded by fields and olive trees, was once at the center of an agricultural estate of considerable importance.
The building served not only for the storage and processing of the produce farmed but also as dwellings for the farm workers and occasional residence of the landowner.
An archaeological site, containing traces of the ancient Roman city of Egnatia, has been recently discovered in the vicinity of the building and it is believed that stone remains from the VI century B.C. were used in the farmstead's construction.
In 2005 the Masseria was transformed in the Guest House of the 18 hole San Domenico Golf Club.
The resulting hotel has 15 delightful bedrooms, all furnished in classic Mediterranean style with the addition of contemporary in-room facilities including flat screen televisions and individually controlled air conditioning. The rooms are located either in the main body of the farmhouse or in the adjacent tower.
Stone fireplaces and panoramic balconies feature in a number of the rooms.
