Baglio del Marchese Masseria sul mare Marsala

A luxury farmstay situated on the coast between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, Baglio del Marchese Masseria sul mare is an imposing edifice which dominates a 700 hectare estate where grapes used for the production of a number of Sicily's most prestigious wines are grown. Originally property of the bishop's see, the Masseria has belonged to the noble Montalto Spanò family for some 200 years. Recently, Silvia Montalto Spanò, direct descendent of the marquis, has transformed the residence in elegant holiday accommodation.

The Masseria is built on a square plan with a series of charming inner courtyards; original architectural features which have remained unaltered by the passage of time. Guests sojourn in beautifully appointed rooms, in which to find exquisite items of Liberty style furniture, precious porcelains, and unique period paintings.

The wines produced from the grapes grown on the Montalto Estate can be tasted during specially organised wine tastings held at the Masseria. Baglio del Marchese is just moments away from the sea, within walking distance of a glorious sandy beach and just a short boat trip away from Sicily's spectacular Egadi islands.
