Lucignanello Bandini San Giovanni d'Asso

Lucignanello Bandini is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Crete Senesi (Sienese Claylands), in southern Tuscany, in the miniscule village of Lucignano d'Asso. Lucignano has been inhabited since roman times, although the castle, churches, and cluster of stone buildings which now comprise the hamlet date back to the middle ages. A document of 1485 indicates that the castle and associated dwellings once belonged to the powerful Piccolomini dynasty.

Lucignanello Bandini offers guests accommodation in any of five cottages situated within the hamlet, and a farmhouse, now transformed in elegant country residence, just beyond the village. The dwellings are built in the soft muted pink and beige coloured local stone and the traditional Tuscan building materials of travertine marble, terracotta, and seasoned wood.

Inside, one finds a stylish combination of the finest furnishings, all in perfect harmony with the ancient buildings which house them. Trompe-l'oeil motifs, hand-painted ceramics, pale jacquard textiles and bright printed cottons characterize rooms which offer the utmost in comfort and every modern convenience. Casa Amadeo, Casa Remo, Casa Clementina, Casa Severino and Casa Maria, feature charming traditional Tuscan fireplaces and period furniture, and offer enchanting views of the ancient village, the church courtyard and the surrounding countryside. A large panoramic swimming pool is located on the hillside and reserved for the guests of Lucignanello Bandini.

The 18th century farmhouse, Casale Sarageto, situated just outside the village, provides the perfect accommodation for large families or groups of friends. The Casale is comprised of four bedrooms with private bathrooms, sitting room with he open fireplace, large farmhouse kitchen and dining room, and an immense common room, ideal for entertaining. On the loggia one finds a barbeque and oven. A large private garden and swimming pool complete the facilities.
