Hotel Palumbo Ravello

The Hotel Palumbo is a 5 star hotel situated some 350mt above sea level, in the town of Ravello. The hotel building and grounds are of exceptional historic interest, conserving many of the features of the original 13th century Palazzo Confalone and a number of additional artworks of inestimable value, including a painting by Guido Reni, one of Caravaggio's pupils.
Guests are greeted in a lobby characterized by graceful ogival arches, ancient Greek and Roman columns, and floors of hand painted majolica.
The hotel's 21 guest rooms are no less stunning than the sumptuous public rooms. The bedrooms and suites of the Hotel Palumbo represent the masterly reconciliation of the medieval origins of the building and contemporary standards of comfort and technology. All rooms are individually furnished with period furniture dating back to the 16th , 17th, and 18th centuries.
The 'Sala San Giovanni' dining room in which Reni's masterpiece hangs, offers a magnificent example of past aristocratic opulence with frescoed ceilings, terracotta flooring with ceramic tile inserts, and immense mirrors in century-old gilded frames. A huge 19th century fireplace dominates the majolica paved 'Sala Grande'. During the long summer months, guests may choose to dine on the restaurant's panoramic terraces. Wherever clients choose to eat, the beautifully presented Mediterranean cuisine, is always divine.
The gardens of the villa still greatly resemble those of the original landscape design, with its network of shady pergolas, citrus trees and rose beds. A 17th century colonnade frames the view out over the whole Amalfi Coast.
For the guests of Hotel Palumbo the sea is within easy reach. A staffed Villa with private access to the shore, a solarium facility, and swimming pool is linked to the hotel by shuttle service.
