The Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli occupies a dreamlike location on the Western shores of Italy's picturesque Lake Garda.
The villa was built in 1892, as the ostentatiously lavish summer residence of the influential Feltrinelli family. Milanese architect Alberico Barbiano di Belgioioso created an edifice in extravagant Italian Liberty style, complete with castle-like turrets.
In 1997, the founder of the Regent international Hotels, Bob Burns, acquired the property and financed the extensive restoration project which led to Villa Feltrinelli's stunning transformation in world class luxury 5 star hotel.
Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli has just 21 guestrooms, 13 of which situated in the main villa and the remaining 8 in the attractive 'guesthouses' in the park. All have been designed and decorated so as to afford the hotel's elite clientele the utmost in luxury and the very latest in technology. Unique items of antique furniture from the villa, handcrafted lamps in Murano glass, hand-painted Venetian papers and exquisite Italian textiles add lustre to the spacious rooms and suites. Of the 13 rooms situated in the main villa, seven contain magnificent frescoed ceilings painted in the late 19th century by the Lieti brothers.
The very finest regional and Italian cuisine features on the menus of Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli's excellent restaurant. The beautifully presented seasonal dishes are prepared using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. In warm weather, guests eat al fresco in the attractive pergola adjacent to the main dining room.
Like the villa, the park has also been painstakingly restored so as to bring back to their former glory the classic Italian garden, century-old olive grove and tiered lemon garden.
