Fattoria La Striscia Arezzo

Fattoria La Striscia is situated just 1km away from the historic center of Arezzo, in open countryside embraced by the gentile Tuscan hillside. The origins of the villa and adjoining farm date back to the 16th century. The villa was restored in the 19th century when it became the summer residence of the Occhini family from Florence. In recent years, Ilaria Occhini, best known for her work as actress alongside Vittorio Gassman and Marcello Mastroianni in the 1960's and 70's, has supervised the restoration of the farm adjoining the villa, transforming it into a superb country residence.

Five welcoming apartments have been created in the old farm buildings, the exteriors of which maintain the rustic charm of the Tuscan countryside, in contrast with the elegance of interiors furnished with antiques which once adorned the villa.

The Italian-style Liberty garden of the Fattoria La Striscia, designed by the architect Porcinai, encircles a delightful water feature with fountain. A pathway through the vineyards leads to the large swimming pool, where to take a refreshing dip in the water or relax in the sunshine on comfortable loungers.

On request, tastings of local cuisine and Occhini wine are organised. The Occhini wine, obtained from the grapes grown in the Fattoria La Striscia's 14 hectares of vineyards and bottled in the magnificent 16th century cellars of the villa, has received numerous accolades including the prestigious "2 Glasses" of the Gambero Rosso wine guide.
