Castello di Lispida Monselice

Castello di Lispida is situated in the very heart of the Euganean Hills Nature Reserve, within easy reach of the cities of Padova and Venice and the charming medieval village of Arquà Petrarca.

Earliest recorded mention of Lispida dates back to 1150, in an edit made by Pope Eugene the 3rd, when it was declared property of the Augustine Monastic order. Lispida served as monastery right up until the end of the 18th century, when the 90 hectare estate was acquired by the Corinaldi family. The Corinaldi built the present structure on the foundations of the medieval ecclesiastical complex and added the large cellars necessary to hold the copious volumes of wine produced from grapes cultivated in the surrounding vineyards.

Within the vast property of Castello di Lispida there is a thermal lake with natural hot springs where mud known for its therapeutic properties is produced. A number of world class spas are located in the vicinity, all of which use the rich thermal water and mud in state-of-the-art health and beauty treatments.
