Castelletto di Montebenichi Bucine
The Castelletto di Montebenichi is located on hillside to the south east of Tuscany's Chianti region, halfway between the cities of Arezzo and Siena.
The 12th century castle of Montebenichi, situated above the small village of the same name, is home to a unique four star hotel with 9 exquisitely furnished rooms and suites.
A clever combination of modern and period furniture ensures that guests enjoy the utmost in comfort in rooms which still contain much of their original medieval charm. Exposed wooden beam ceilings, magnificent beds and luxurious textiles feature in rooms embellished with unique artworks from the owner's private collection.
The public rooms, with huge fireplaces and superb ornate timber ceilings, are all home to precious works of art including immense period frescoes, archaeological finds, sculptures, bronzes and ceramics. A remarkable collection of drawings and paintings are situated in the castle's library and in the entrance hall of the hotel fascinating pieces of Etruscan, Greek and Roman terracotta can be seen.
The breakfast room of Castelletto di Montebenichi is situated in the open gallery on the first floor of the building. A sumptuous buffet breakfast makes the perfect start to the day. Guests can help themselves to refreshment in the lounge bar at any time. Typical Tuscan produce including the finest olive oil and wine can be purchased in the hotel shop.
The gardens of the Castelletto di Monetbenichi enjoy stunning views of the Tuscan countryside. A particularly breathtaking panorama can be observed from the large swimming pool. In the summer house guests find exercise equipment and a Jacuzzi.
