Castel di Luco Acquasanta Terme

Castel di Luco is a fascinating Medieval castle situated in the Marche's Aquasanta Terme area, not far from the city of Ascoli Piceno.

Earliest surviving documentation regarding the castle dates back to the 11th century in the form of a papal seal issued by Pope Leone IX, now conserved in the archives of Ascoli Cathedral. Originally built for defensive purposes, the castle later became the sumptuous residence of the local aristocracy before passing in to the hands of the Amici family in the early 19th century.

Today the castle, largely unaltered over the centuries, is a site of great historical and artistic interest, attracting visitors from every corner of the globe. Guests are guided through the great halls, to a fabulous vaulted ceilinged dining room where to experience superlative regional cuisine and wines.

For those wishing to extend their visit and sojourn within the vicinity of the castle, estate owner's Laura and Francesco Amici have created 4 guest suites in a carefully restored 15th century building located in the medieval hamlet, just beneath the castle. Age-old brick paving, exposed stone walls, and wooden beamed ceilings are just some of the original features to be found in the guest rooms, all of which enjoy outstanding views over the surrounding countryside.
