Capofaro Malvasia & Resort Salina, Isole Eolie

On the beautiful Aeolian island of Salina, between the coastal village of Malfa and Santa Marina lies the six hectare estate of the Capofaro Malvasia & Resort. On land used predominantly for the cultivation of the highly aromatic Malvasia grape the Tasca D'Almerita family have created a superb 18 bedroom resort the name of which was inspired by the nearby lighthouse or "faro".

The hotel building has been inspired by the simple clean lines of traditional island architecture, with white stucco walls, and columned terraces shaded by woven cane mats or "cannizzi". The cluster of 7 flat roofed buildings contains 13 rooms and 5 junior suites all enjoying views out over the lovingly cultivated vineyards and on towards the deep blue Mediterranean sea and the islands of Stromboli ad Panarea.

The best of island cuisine is served at the intimate resort restaurant accompanied, hardly surprisingly, by a fine selection of wines. A bar, fresh water swimming pool, tennis courts and solarium complete the facilities at guests disposal. The crystal clear Sicilian sea is just a short walk away, along a pathway cut through the lava.
