Bauer Hotel Venezia

The Bauer Hotel is situated on Venice's Grand Canal. The luxurious waterfront hotel, result of the fortuitous partnership between Mr Bauer, director of Venice's Hotel de la Ville , and the Austrian entrepreneur Julius Grunwald, first opened its doors to guests in 1880. Arnaldo Bennati, who acquired the property in 1930, was responsible for the first major restoration project which included the addition of the ornate 17th century Byzantine-Gothic style façade, and the creation of the Campo San Moisè wing of the hotel and the seventh floor open air terrace.

Following in her grandfather's footsteps, in 1997 Francesca Bortolotto Possati, the present day Chairwoman of the Bauer hotel, approved renovation work which has resulted in one of Venice's finest five star hotels; offering guests a perfect combination of state-of-the-art technology and interiors which exude all the opulent luxury of historical Venice.

The Bauer Hotel has a total of 97 guest bedrooms, 18 of which are suites. Deluxe rooms, Junior Suites and Suites are graced with sumptuous textiles and delightful pieces of Venetian craftsmanship. Exclusive Rubelli fabrics and original Murano glass chandeliers feature in the wonderfully romantic Suites. All bathrooms are decorated in finest Italian marble.

The hotel's De Pisis Restaurant presents guests with a superb seasonal menu. Gourmet dishes, inspired by the best international and Mediterranean cuisine, are served in the intimate dining room and, in warmer weather, on the restaurant's panoramic terrace, overlooking the Grand Canal.
