Antica Tenuta di Ricavo Castellina in Chianti

The Tenuta di Ricavo is situated in the heart of the Chianti region, in 445 acres of protected park, and halfway between the Tuscan cities of Florence and Siena. Originally built as a medieval fortified village, the Tenuta di Ricavo is comprised of a large villa, a cluster of smaller cottages, and various outbuildings once used for agricultural purposes. The tiny chapel, in the heart of the complex, is, to this very day, the property of the Curia of Florence.

In 1947 the Tenuta di Ricavo was acquired by the Scotoni family. Soon after coming into ownership of the estate, the new proprietors initiated extensive restoration work which resulted in the ancient medieval village being transformed in exclusive holiday resort.

Guests staying at the Tenuta di Ricavo have the opportunity to sojourn in charming bedrooms and apartments built in local stone and terracotta and featuring fabulous exposed wooden beam ceilings. All rooms are furnished with delightful period pieces of the Tuscan tradition.

The owner of the Tenuta di Ricavo personally directs the resort's restaurant.
