A Palazzo Busdraghi Lucca
Palazzo Busdraghi is situated in the heart of the historic center of Lucca, its elegant façade, with wood panelled door and ancient family crests, facing out on to the town's principal street of Via Fillungo. The town house, dating back to the 1500's and for centuries the residence of a succession of affluent Tuscan families and aristocrats, now houses one of Lucca's most charming hotels.
Palazzo Busdraghi has 7 unique bedrooms. The Palazzo's medieval past is evident in the complex distribution of the internal spaces of the hotel, and each bedroom is completely different in shape and dimension. The individually appointed and wonderfully romantic rooms all feature antique pieces of furniture and rich textiles. Guests are guaranteed the perfect combination of old world luxury and contemporary standards of comfort, with the discreet use of modern amenities including plasma satellite television, air conditioning and sound insulation. The bathrooms are fitted with Jacuzzi bath tub or shower.
Pride of place is given to the magnificent wardrobe that once belonged to the great Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini, born in Lucca in 1858 to a family of 5 generations of musicians and whose operas La Bohème, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly have become part of every standard classical music repertoire. An abundant selection of the local delicacies is served in the hotel's "tapestry" room each morning for breakfast. The hotel's large garden, bordering the wall of Via Busdraghi, provides a delightful venue for moments of relaxation.
